Besides the debate, this is probably my least favorite aspect of the class. I'm am not photogenic nor (if I remember correctly) audiogenic (it is the word but it doesn't mean what I want it to mean). Anyways, this is where you'll find my progessions in podcasting.

Last Week of Official Class
(4.8MB .mov file)
|
11/4 through 11/10
We watched "What the Bleep do we know?" It was how you would say, a "though provoking movie." At least, that is how David described it. The first half was intriguing and went outside the box. The interviewees proposed the idea that we actually construct a day's events before we actually experience the day. But as the movie progressed, these theories started to sound like rambling or philisophical rather than scientific discussions. We later got hammered on our poster presentation again. I later found out that Jaime had larengitus, so Ryan and I finished the necessary corrections (hopefully).

Inter. the Dragon

11/27 through 12/3
Interviews went as expected. David basically cut my derivation short, but hey, I'm fine with that. I actually had to juggle though. I felt claustrophobic being surrounded by laptops (considering that I previously chucked a tennis ball at a mac). Later, I finished working on the physics of P3 to doublecheck Jaime's work and I'm sorry to that our numbers didn't match up.

It's Sumo Time
(5.3MB .mov file)
|
11/20 through right before Turkey Day We finally tested our sumo for real. It turned out that our sumo was practically double the maximum weight so Jaime slimmed it down in about ten seconds, which in my opinion is amazing. We still lost in the end though. It turned out that all the test runs completely banged up our cans (which may or may not have affected our performance). Anyways, the rest of the week was devouted to MMPs. I encountered many obstacles in this process, but the end I prevailed (with some glitches).

Accid. Reconstruction
(4.9MB .mov file)
|
11-13 through 11-19
We finally learned to do the physics of P3 in an accident reconstruction exercise. David showed us the correct method first then he paired us up as cop and coach. This had us basically transcribing David's notes from the board onto our own whiteboards. Momentum was introduced during this exercise. A clay and rubber ball we further used to explain momentum, but his train of thought made little sense to me. Since I forgot our sumo the next day I basically missed the majority of next class (which I regret later).

Ha me debate. Don't make me laugh
(4.2MB .mov file)

11/6 through 11/12 Debate day is already here. WWWHHHHHYYY?! Well, I somehow managed to speak in front of the class wthout having a volume problem. I did get flustered every now and then. Even though we presented pro (which to all of us was the easier side) the class side with the con which is understandable. The ET debate was way too entertaining, but it was a great pickmeupper. Later we entered the angular world and everyone basically slammed on the brakes. The wiki stiks helped to lift our feet (some more than others) but a lot of us are resisting this angular stuff. Let's see where this leads us.

A Whole New World
(3.6MB .mov file)

10/30 through 11/5 Another one day week. Woohoo. First we took care of Joey and Miranda's dilema. We split up into our respective fruits to solve the dilema 5 different ways. David started to define circular motion for us and cleared up the differences between physics and our original beliefs. He also had a demo consisting of a black disk and a silver ring with equal masses (It ended in a easily misconstrued statement). That's one way to learn :P.

Another Interview
(1.6MB .m4a streamed file)
|
10/23 through 10/29
Kudos to Jaime for another fabulous poster presentation. Not much to this week other than the interviews. I found out that I'm taking more responsability than I should be (not letting my teammates tryout the calculations). I might even switch groups depending on the setup of the next project (sumo tournament). My camera records in .avi and David showed me a conversion site but it turns out my podcasts or too large to convert so I'll have to find another way to make my podcasts conveniently because doing Enhanced podcasts through Garageband is, in my opinion, not user friendly.

10/16 through 10/22 It's basically my progress in juggling. For a person who couldn't juggle and has horrible hand-eye coordination, juggling was an impressive accomplishment. Hopefully I don't forget to juggle if I stop practicing for a while (which will happen in the near future).

10/9 through 10/15
It was interesting trying to understand the physics of this week purely from looking at my groups notebooks. It did not help that they split up during the lab.

New Stuff, Ooohhh!
(5.3MB .mov file)
|
10/2 through 10/8 Usually, I'm used to a whole bunch of equations when it comes to physics. But not everyone is a math genius so this week, we learned some new ways to model situations without resorting to equations. This meant graphing the situation to understand it visually. Later we learned how to do Enhanced podcasts. I didn't see the difference when comparing it to a video podcast, but maybe it'll come in handy later. Energy was also touched on but it felt as if it flew through everyone's ears.

Listen to me yak on and on about our first two weeks in physics. It took me forever to sync the song and my audio together (it was punishment, but not torture), but I like it nonetheless. http://img.sheezyart.com/art/preview/55/551673.jpg
